Founded upon decades of dancing and teaching experience, the Munro School of Irish Dancing aspires to ignite the love of Irish dancing in a positive and fun environment.  Founded by Kay Munro in 1964, we are thrilled to be able to continue Kay’s legacy and offer Irish dancing classes for beginners through to champions where students are encouraged to gain confidence through performing, competing, or just dancing for the love of it!

Located in Mackay and the Whitsundays, North Queensland, we welcome students of all ages and experience, to learn and love the tradition of Irish dancing whether it be competitively or just for fun.

New starters are welcome throughout the year.

Our dancers are provided the opportunity compete in local, national and international competitions if they wish.  To date, our dancers have competed at the World Irish Dancing Championships, Great Britain Championships, British Nationals, All Scotland Championships, Australian National Championships, Australian International Oireachtas and the Queensland State Championships.

Our dancers also have the opportunity participate in dancer grade examinations with the aim of attaining “The Diploma of the Irish Dancing Commission" and to perform at local events.

Whether you’re a beginner, an experienced dancer, or just looking for fun and fitness you can find it all at the Munro School of Irish Dancing.
